Sony introduces annual ‘PSN Play’ promotion

Just as we’re in the midst of Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade, Sony is answering with its own multi-game promotion starting later this month. PSN Play will feature a new PlayStation Network release every week for four weeks, and offers a free game as a bonus for collecting all of them.
Resistance 3 goes gold, getting day-one patch

Resistance 3 is now a month away, and Insomniac has announced that the game has gone gold for manufacturing. The team can’t rest on its laurels, though, since it’s overseeing the beta test starting today for SOCOM 4 buyers, and planning a day-one patch to boot.
Double Dragon 2 remake coming to Xbox 360

The HD remakes keep on coming. This time, Double Dragon II is getting the polygonal update. Double Dragon II: The Revenge is coming to Xbox Live Arcade later this year as Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons. It’s being developed by Korean studio Barunson Interactive, makers of MMORPG Dragon Saga. (They really love their dragons…)

The Nintendo Video app is now available for 3DS owners across America. The initial line-up of videos includes a trailer for the upcoming Captain America movie and two shorts: “Sunday Jog” and “Dinosaur Office” from College Humor. In the coming weeks, more content will be provided automatically via SpotPass.

As expected, GoldenEye Reloaded is an HD update of the Wii original FPS, coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, publisher Activision has announced. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is built on a new engine by Eurocom, the same developer behind the original release. It’s due to be released this fall.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe announced for XBLA, PSN

Voltron fans will get to form the eponymous giant robot with their chums this October in Voltron: Defender of the Universe, announced today by THQ. Based upon the original 1980s anime rather than the recent ‘Voltron Force‘ cartoon, it’ll hit Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network with co-op support for up to five players.
