New Tomb Raider in development confirmed for Next gen
A new Tomb Raider has been confirmed this morning to be in development for the next generation of consoles.
First the tweet:
Next the quote from Darrell Gallagher, Head of Product Development and Studios (via Tumblr):
“Hi – you may have read today that a next-generation sequel to Tomb Raider is in the works. We’re very excited to confirm that the team has started working on telling the next chapter in Lara’s tale. It’s still early days, so I’m afraid I can’t provide any further details for now save my assurance that we’re not resting on our laurels and acclaim from Tomb Raider’s recent successes, but working hard to raise the bar even higher and re-affirm the faith you’ve shown.“
Then the Blog :
Phil Rogers, CEO of Square Enix then posted a statement on the future of the company going into the next generation and what games there working on like Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III and Thief — which were all previously announced at E3.
But what wasn’t previously announced and what gamers didn’t know is that a next gen Tomb Raider was a part of the line up.
Details were scarce but it does seem the next Tomb Raider will be a direct sequel to the Tomb Raider that released earlier this year.
Tomb Raider was a very good game, showcasing some of the best multi-platform graphics this generation, I could only imagine how Lara will look and play in the next generation, can’t wait!
