DIRECTV — PlayStation 3 — Exclusively

PlayStation 3 owners get ready, on the heels of announcing it’s $249 price drop,Sony is reporting that DIRECTV and Sony are collaborating to bring DIRECTV to the PlayStation 3.

DIRECTV will be bringing it services — specifically NFL Sunday Ticket to the PlayStation 3 console. If you are not familiar with Sunday Ticket it’s a service that DIRECTV offers to it’s customers every football season and allows you to watch every NFL football game on Sundays, essentially allowing you to watch your favorite team throughout the whole season(regardless of where you live) or watch a “big game” that doesn’t normally air on national television.

How does one access this service? Here’s how it works:

If you do not currently have DIRECTV  as your cable provider, then it will cost you 339.95. If you already are an existing customer, and you already have NFL Sunday Ticket and NFL Sunday Ticket To-Go through then you can then access the service with no additional charge. ShackNews is reporting that it’ll cost $50 if you already have DIRECTV and you’ll use your PS3 as an additional reciever.

In addition to all of this ShackNews is also reporting that this will indeed be exclusive to the PS3 and that DIRECTV’s Robert Mercer said their were no plans to bring it’s services (NFL Sunday Ticket) to other consoles.

Just in case you were wondering, yes the service will support full HD yipppeee!!! So gamers/PS3 owners is this service something you will be  adding for the upcoming football season? Let me know. Leave your comments.
