Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate Officially Announced
A rumor started circulating about a new Batman game being developed named ‘Arkham Origins’ in which has since been officially announced via the latest issue of Game Informer.
Not developed by Rocksteady, the creators of the heralded Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City no, this one is being spear-headed by WB Games Montreal, which will be released on the PC, PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360 platforms.
The story is supposed to be a prequel of some sort (hence Origins) where you control a younger Batman while the plot centers around 8 assassins coming to a snowy Arkham City on Christmas Eve to kill the ‘Dark Knight’. There was also a rumor on top of the now confirmed game that the art style and direction will be dripped in Batman 1960’s/first generation comic book Noir (I hope not).
A handheld Batman game — different from the console versions is also being developed by Armature Studios called ‘Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate’ with a 2.5D presentation ( think Metroid) coming to the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.
Both Batman: Arkham Origins (Console) and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (Handheld) will be available Oct 25, 2013.
